Overview

On this accelerated 3 day MCSE: Mobility (Windows 10) course you will learn how to use Enteprise Mobility Suite to manage Windows 10 devices, users and data. You will expand your knowledge and skills helping you to plan, deploy, and manage devices and applications in medium to large organisations.

Additionally, you will delve into how to design and implement cloud-based and on-premise solutions for managing Windows-based, iOS and android devices. Using these skills you will profvide secure access to data and applications.

Your Planning for and Managing Devices in the Enterprise certification course is 40% faster than traditional courses – allowing you to get back to the office sooner and put your new skills into practice.

Candidates who take this exam should already have experience with desktop/devices administration, Windows networking technologies, Active Directory and Intune.

As part of the course you will be prepared for exam 70-398, which you will sit during the course. This is covered by your Certification Guarantee. Passing this exam fulfills the elective requirement for the MCSE: Mobility credential.

Note: Passing exam 70-398 previously resulted in achieving the Microsoft Specialist: Windows 10 - Planning for and Managing Devices in the Enterprise certification.

Microsoft retired the Specialist credential as of 31 March, 2017. The exams remain available and where applicable will count towards the relevant existing MCSA, MCSE or MCSD certification.

Module 1: Using devices in the enterprise

This is an overview module that introduces changes and challenges in today's typical workplace, and the solutions to address them. The intention of this module is to set the stage for later modules, and to introduce the Enterprise Mobility Suite

Module 2: Active Directory Domain Services features for device management

In this module students will learn how to manage devices in an on-premises Active Directory environment. They will learn about central administration by using Group Policies, how to implement Dynamic Access Control, and how to configure and use advanced auditing.

Module 3: Implementing and administering Azure AD

In this module students will learn about cloud identity, and the features that Azure AD provides. They also will learn about Azure AD offerings, how to create and manage an Azure AD tenant, and how claims-based authentication works.

Module 4: Connecting AD DS with Azure AD

In this module students will learn how to connect their on-premises AD DS with Azure AD. They will learn about Azure AD Connect, and how either to synchronize entire identities to Azure AD, including password hashes, or to establish federation with Azure AD.

Module 5: Planning and implementing app support

In this module students will learn how they can mitigate compatibility issues between applications on the same device, and between the application and the operating system. They also will learn about RemoteApp and Azure RemoteApp programs, which enable you to run Windows apps on any device with the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) client.

In this module students will learn about Office 365 and its main features. The focus of this module is on device management by using mobile device management for Office 365.

Module 7: Planning and implementing Microsoft Intune

Module 11: Planning and implementing remote access

Prerequisites

Candidates who take this exam should already have experience with desktop/devices administration, Windows networking technologies, Active Directory and Intune.

Candidates who take this exam should also be able to:

  • Plan and design policies to protect content using Data Loss Protection (DLP) and for managing and securing mobile devices.
  • Plan for and design a platform that provides applications to devices using virtualisation with Hyper-V and to perform application management using the Company Portal or Windows Store.
  • Demonstrate their skills around device designing and implementing device management, security and integrated Azure features.

Candidates can take this exam and meet the prerequisites by obtaining equivalent knowledge and skills through practical experience as a Device Support Technician or a Device System Administrator.
