Overview

The Unified Communications course is designed to give students an introduction into the concepts of Unified Communications plus an insight into the enterprise capabilities of Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007. Through a mixture of lecture and practical exercises students will deploy OCS 2007 and be made aware of the product features. The course is designed for those who are looking to deploy OCS 2007. The course can be used as preparation towards the Microsoft OCS certification exam.

Course Objectives

The primary objective is for students to obtain an understanding of Microsoft’s vision of Unified Communications. As part of the course, students will:

Deploy an Office Communications Server 2007 infrastructure
Configure and test voice and telephony features within OCS 2007
Be aware of the concepts of the rich presence model and rich presence information data format
Investigate the capabilities of web conferencing within OCS 2007

Knowledge of Microsoft server products, plus Exchange 2007 and SharePoint are required for this course.
